Retail and Wine evening with Jo Jenkins, CEO of White Stuff, and Moses Rashid, founder of The Edit LDN

Retail Insider held its latest event involving guest speakers Jo Jenkins, CEO of White Stuff, and Moses Rashid, founder of The Edit LDN, at Hedonism Wines in London’s Mayfair followed by a tutored tasting of wines from 2009.

The event sponsored by Xpedition and K3 involved senior executives from retailers including John Lewis, Specsavers, The Deck, Moss Bros, Card Factory and Eton Shirts hearing the story of how Jo has been handling a total business transformation at White Stuff. This began with the product and extended out an all-encompassing project including supply chains, technology and digital channel development.

Jo highlighted how the development of multiple channels required close control over the inventory across the business and that this discipline is essential to future success. Despite the growth of digital she also revealed that stores still play a major role in White Stuff and that the business would like to open more outlets.

Moses outlined how he created his resale marketplace for sneakers and street-wear that has successfully harnessed the power of social media and collaborations with sports stars to promote desirable, collectible products on the platform. This has helped develop a powerful eco-system around The Edit LDN and led to it opening up concessions with a number of leading retailers including Harrods and Galleries Lafayette.

With the recent acquisition of the business by BrandAlley UK the ability to leverage the new parent’s network of brands presents a great opportunity for growth, according to Moses.

The event concluded with a tutored wine tasting hosted by one of the expert sommeliers at Hedonism involving a number of flights of wines from around the world selected from the 2009 vintage.

Retail Insider would like to thank Jo Jenkins and Moses Rashid for taking part in the event and providing some great insights on the night and also to Xpedition and K3 for their support that made the event possible.
