We asked all our winners in this year’s Transforming Retail Awards to tell us a little bit more about themselves and their winning entry. DPD Group won out in the Delivery Innovation category with its new app.
How do you feel about winning this Award?
We’re delighted with this award. Our app has been downloaded a massive eight million times, making home deliveries much more convenient for shippers and shoppers alike. So it’s great to have our reputation for innovation further recognised by Retail Insider.
Why do you think your entry stood out?
Probably because the app gives consumers more control than any other carrier over how, where and when they receive a parcel. As a result, DPD has been able to significantly increase the number of parcels delivered right-first time. We now have record-high service levels and this helps to differentiate us in a highly competitive market.
What plans do you have for your company in the coming year?
Our major focus this year is on cementing our position as the UK’s most sustainable delivery company. With more than 700 electric vehicles, we already have the biggest EV fleet in our sector and this year we’ll save 5,000 tonnes of CO2 versus 2019 – that’s the equivalent of planting 20,000 trees.
